We are thinking radically about how we use our resources, moving away from a focus on savings and cuts, to a really fundamental exploration of how we use what we have more effectively, becoming more commercial in our approach and generating more income locally whilst at the same time meeting the needs of our citizens and communities.
To be successful our organisation needs to change, so we are changing our structure to provide strong strategic leadership and delivery capability, developing our systems and processes to become more agile and fleet of foot and our culture, to enable us to do more with less. This means organising ourselves differently, growing our own and recruiting the best available talent and creating a constructive and supportive culture. In short, we need to become an organisation fit for the challenges of today’s public services.
